Funding & Budget Stability

• Advocate with MLAs and the Minister of Education for funding that reflects inflation, enrollment growth, and the real costs of transportation and inclusive education.

• Ensure budget decisions are transparent and communicated clearly to families.

• Work with fellow trustees to set spending priorities that keep students first.

Inclusive Education & Equity

• Ensure students with diverse learning needs, disabilities, and backgrounds receive appropriate support by keeping an open dialogue with parents and teachers.

• Champion policies that make classrooms safe, respectful, and welcoming for all students.

• Navigating sensitive public debates about gender identity, sexual orientation, and parental involvement in schools.

• Advocate for additional educational assistants and specialists so every child has the support they need to succeed.

Student Mental Health & Wellness

• Collaborate with Alberta Health Services and local organizations to bring more mental health supports into schools.

• Support wellness initiatives that promote belonging, resilience, and positive relationships.

• Work to ensure funding for mental health programs is stable, not temporary.

Community Voice & Transparency

• Hold regular conversations with families, staff, and community members to keep decision-making open and accountable.

• Share updates in plain language so parents know how decisions affect their children.

• Strengthen relationships with community partners, Indigenous communities, and local organizations.
